WITSUP women in triathlon

It’s time to say goodbye to Witsup. The thing is, I don’t want to write “it’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye … “ because my heart has done so much heavy lifting the last few weeks, if not months, as I have come to the incredibly tough decision to close down WITSUP and move on. I want to say that I’m finally in a space that it’s with a light and happy heart that I can close this chapter, be excited about the next one and truly celebrate all of the awesomeness that WITSUP has achieved over a decade. From day one, WITSUP was a fight for improving the media landscape and the community for women in triathlon and sport, and we achieved so much in this space. But, for me, I now need to move on and find what lights my fire again. We decided to give WITSUP a send off via a podcast, so if you want to join us for an emotional trip down memory lane, we asked some of our faves to help share some stories. Hot tip: Don’t edit your own finale podcast - it was brutal, but a beautiful thing. Thanks to Linsey Corbin, Belinda Granger, Mirinda Carfrae, Laura Siddall, Jordan Blanco, Meredith Kessler, Caroline Steffen, Rachel Joyce and Lizzy Blatchford. So what’s next? I’m not entirely sure, but I know I’ll dive in with the passion and drive I had when we launched WITSUP. And stay tuned, maybe the podcast will be back but will just be slightly different. Who knows. But firstly, and most importantly, I’m going to change the batteries in Frankie’s toy that I’ve been telling her I’ll do for weeks, steal a few extra cuddles, and probably have a gin. Thank you everyone so so much for all of your support over the years. It’s been a hell of a ride.

Sophie Corbidge - A Breath Of Fresh Air
Sophie Corbidge wears many hats and even goes by two last names. As a triathlete, she goes by Sophie Corbidge, but as a teacher and newlywed wife she’s Sophie Gwynn. In her 20s, after months (if not years) of gradually feeling worse and worse, she was finally diagnosed with chronic fatigue. From an unbalanced metabolism, exhaustion, constant injury, and losing her menstrual cycle. We talk about embracing her menstrual cycle instead of dreading it, or even worse, not having a period at all. We’re inspired by her perspective and ability to balance the many roles of her life without guilt. Get to know Sophie’s personality and contagious laughter. Quotes highlights include: “Sport is selfish in its nature. I like helping people and relating to people. Changing the way you’re teaching to help individuals is really satisfying. You often get children with the same ability who solve problems very differently. I like getting the most out of people by learning how they learn.” “Periods are good!” “Even in the classroom, I like for the environment to be relaxed.” “Ultimately if I can go to sleep at night knowing that I'm a good person, that ultimately is at the top of the list of what I am.” Follow Sophie: https://www.instagram.com/sophiecorbidge/ Follow Dr Stacy Sims: https://www.instagram.com/drstacysims/ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * EAT FOR YOU GIVE A BIT PROGRAM - code WITSUP10 eatforyou.com.au/ Use the code WITSUP10 at checkout for a 10% discount.
