Our second feature from this summer’s El Segundo exhibition focuses on Jose Espinoza. A Mexican painter and illustrator residing in Long Beach, CA; we get to hear more about his amalgamation of the indigenous and contemporary. Espinoza talks to us about his work-from-home process and how he navigates ideation and production in a transformative space, the products of such an environment, and his connection to the arts in Santa Ana. Espinoza and Santos shared their Undergraduate journey at CSU Dominguez Hills where they received their BA in Studio Art, found mentorship through the PRAXIS program, and reciprocated communal efforts through the DH Arts Collective. They would like to extend a special thanks to Devon Tsuno for his guidance and support. You can follow Jose Espinoza on instagram @joseespinozastudio.
