No. 42 | Tú Uyên Nguyen

Good morning and good evening y'all! Today we have a very special guest (and one of the show's BIGGEST fans), Tú Uyên Nguyen! Tú Uyên and I discuss the ways we invest in our younger peers, what we have to offer in a mentor/mentee relationship, using intentionality and authenticity as a form of self care, our opinions on using Instagram to express our feelings, and aligning our use of time with our priorities.

We hear about how Tú Uyên's childhood life compares to the lives of her parents, her family immigrating to the US from Vietnam (we speculate on the reasoning behind one's decision to emigrate and dealing with discrimination upon arrival), and why she loves cooking for her friends (Tú Uyên notes that in Vietnamese, you say 'I love you' through food). We both open up about our experiences with grief and how death changes our perceptions of the world.

This conversation was so fun-loving and supportive, and I am honored to be sharing it with you all. I hope you enjoy! I love you, and bye for now.

Hey there, it's Jai! I've been waiting for you to join me. Welcome to Wish You Were Here, the podcast where we open to each other and cherish human connection. What if I asked, what is it like to be you? Do you know what you'd say?

The guests you'll here from are the people that I most love and adore, and together we explore that very question. Maybe one day you will be next. Now, it's time to dig a little deeper.
