S1E3 - Reb Zale Newman

Welcome to the Aseret Podcast, where we learn about character, kindness, wisdom, and virtue from living examples of inspiring people, based on the ethical and moral vision of the Ten Commandments or the Aseret HadDibrot.

In this week's episode, I speak with Reb Zale Newman about the Third Dibber and its demand of us to be ambassadors and carriers of God's name in the world. It was very special and packed with wisdom and insight for all of us.

It is hard to summarize Reb Zale in a few sentences. He is a very special Soul, serving God and the Jewish people with his every breath, both locally in Toronto and with the Village Shul, as well as globally.

Reb Zale is President of Bond Street Mercantile, a hedge fund management firm focused on investing in Israel. Outside of this role, he is a Rabbi and has been involved in a leadership role with every organization under the sun, such as Aish HaTorah, NCSY, Chabad and JWRP to name a few. He is also utterly devoted to Chesed work, especially with Bikur Cholim, visiting those who are ill.

As a lover of music, Reb Zale produced 23 children's albums and 9 of Reb Shlomo Carlebach's.

But beyond this all, he is down to earth and cares so much about helping others and making a difference.

One of his main passions in Jewish education is deepening our connection to prayer. He write a book on the subject called Stairway to Heaven: A Novice's Guide to Jewish Prayer.

I found our interview deeply inspiring and I believe it can help guide us towards making the most of our opportunities, to be a Kiddush Hashem, to do a little good and bring a little of God's light, wherever we may be in the world.

Thanks for listening; we hope you enjoy it and find it meaningful. Please like and subscribe, wherever you may be listening.
