And it’s made to look very complicated when it actually is very simple. That’s why today I’ll be sharing on what is digital marketing exactly and how it works.
So, what exactly is digital marketing? It may sound very simple, but yes, digital marketing is simply marketing using digital tools and platforms. That’s it. So that being said the question now arises, how does it work and what makes it different from traditional marketing. To start with we need to understand the key difference between traditional and digital marketing. Well, with traditional marketing we use mediums such as newspaper, billboards, TV, radio and any other form of print media. Where as digital marketing includes the use digital platforms to market with the help of search engines marketing, social media marketing, content marketing and pay per click advertising.
Cutting it short, when we talk about traditional vs digital marketing, we are actually talking more about the medium used rather than the strategy. So, what makes digital marketing better? Well, when compared with traditional marketing, digital marketing is an advanced form of marketing I would say. This is all because at the end of the day digital marketing is cost effective, it lets you monitor and analyze your efforts on a real time basis. And the biggest difference maker here is the ability with digital marketing to target specific audiences according to your business. Which is not the case with traditional marketing.
