Jasmine and Bryan stick around the Sonoma Valley for one more week, but this time on the coast and a Chardonnay. We paired this weeks wine with salmon, wild rice and of course a salad. We very briefly cover the history of the Sonoma Coast from Russian Traders, loggers and farmers as the valley goes through a rollercoaster of transitions. We talk about livestock replenishing soil necessities and the weather changes in the Coachella Valley. Most of all we talk about this fabulous wine.
The 2016 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a fine balance of richness and acidity delicately toying with the finish in the back of your mouth. Hints of crisp apple, hazelnut and helping the salmon with the taste of lemon or lemon rind. The AMICI does contain a light mineral finish, cleaning your taste buds and palate getting it ready for the next bite or sip.
