Cimone is a first-generation college graduate with a bachelor's, master's, and is on track to be the first African American woman to obtain a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University. She has spent the last decade working at various organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft Inc. and startups such as Smart-Ag, to state government and national laboratories. Cimone is the founder of Hey Cimone!, an organization whose mission is to help students navigate the decisions of college. She has developed a set of fundamental resources and principles to help students mindfully navigate their degree programs and employment opportunities.
