The Tale of Bomber Mountain: A WWII plane crash in WY
In 1943, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was flying from Oregon to Nebraska and, when it wasn’t heard from it was presumed lost. Search and rescue efforts commenced in several mountain ranges in Wyoming before a couple of cowboys found the shiny metal wreckage in the Big Horns. The mountain was renamed in honor of the wreckage’s salvage. HOST Deborah Cobb (debbie@cobbwebb.media)
