Can a Computer Algorithm End Music Copyright Law as We Know It?
We all agree music is art, but an algorithm is challenging that idea. Damien Riehl and Noah Rubin created the "All the Music" algorithm, and it's tirelessly making songs at the rate of over 200,000 melodies per second to prove music is merely math. If they succeed, it will be the end of music copyright law as we know it. Jordan Erica Webber and Joshua Rivera, talk to Damien to understand the murky world of music litigation, and why he's trying to destroy it. Kristelia Garcia, an associate law professor at the University of Colorado, argues that Damien and Noah are breaking laws themselves. And, Jordan lets Joshua play judge in the cases of Vanilla Ice vs. Queen, Ray Parker Jr. vs. Huey Lewis and the News, and Robin Thicke vs. Marvin Gaye.  Follow Wild Wild Tech Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wildwildtechpod/  Twitter: https://twitter.com/wildwildtechpod/  Learn more about your ad choices.
