45. Identifying the Emotional Root of the Problem

Under nearly every reaction - whether it be anger, contraction, avoidance, exploding, or judgment - is another, more vulnerable emotion. When you understand the underlying emotion that is driving your reactions, you have the opportunity to move forward with awareness and support yourself for your entire feelings, rather than react from the wound.

In this episode, Sam explores how to do this. She walks through different examples of reacting, and how to explore what is going on underneath the surface that is contributing to the reaction. She describes the process for this type of inner inquiry and what to do with the information, as well as why it is so valuable to expand your awareness in this way.

*NOTE that Sam does say a few swear words in this episode, in the case that you want to be mindful about who is listening along with you.
