Unprecedented wildfires driven by hurricane force winds with 75-99 mpg gusts, are burning in the suburbs of Los Angeles, At one time six fires simultaneously raged across the area. As of this posting the two worst of the fires: the Palisades fire has burned 23,713 acres and is 14% contained; an estimated 5,000 structures damaged or destroyed. The Eaton fire has burned 14,117 acres and is 33% contained; an estimated 7,000 structures damaged or destroyed.. The remaining fires are either out or contained. Firefighters from Canada and Mexico, Washington, Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, Nevada, and Arizona arrived to help battle the flames. As soon as the crises began, Trump started politicizing the fires, posting misinformation after misinformation, fueling and fanning flames of dissent, name calling and threatening the withholding of disaster funds over California's Democratic political views. Trump's rhetoric is extremely toxic and dangerous, especially considering this man is the president-elect, taking office in 7 days.
