We are not gentle parents… or are we?
Parenting, the hardest job on earth with the lowest pay. Follow us as we transition from our high school episode to parenting, where we deep dive into how we as millennials are parents now vs. how our parents were growing up from dad jokes to mom dances to playground disasters.
Labor and delivery is a traumatic experience even if everything goes smoothly. Imagine staying up for two days straight labouring and birthing a baby into the world thinking to yourself, “Man, I’m exhausted, I can’t wait to go home and get some sleep,” only to never sleep again.
Some people claim to have a beautiful birthing experience but we got bullied by our maternity nurses who most definitely peeked in high school and had a failed epidural at 9 centimetres dilated.
However, the biggest misconception we had about becoming parents was that the baby stage was going to be the hardest. People, it only gets harder as they get older, trust. Do not have a baby unless you are prepared for the child.
The scariest moments of being parents are always illness and injury and having to make the dreaded trip to the hospital. We think gentle parenting should be practiced on your own children, but other people's children…. Jk
