The White-throated Seedeater(Golinho) is a passerine bird in the family Thraupidae. It is also known as brejal, patativa (Pernambuco, Ceará), golinho or golado (Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará, Paraíba, Piauí), white-throat collar and collar. Like all the other members of the genus Sporophila, it can be called "pope-grass" accompanied by some other adjective. Spore is seed and phila comes from phyllo, which means affinity.
