Second: If you're Guilty, you only have 90 days (usually) until the sentencing hearing, and a lot you need to prepare for:The Presentence Interview You have a lot of documents to get copies ofcharacter reference letters (~7)They should know you (or be a current or former employer) and be aware of your legal chargesregarding community service things or events that you have helped them withYour "Personal Narrative" (Most CRITICAL), to include in your Presentence Interview (also CRITICAL), or unfortunately you were sentenced without any preparation (or are already inside) - we can work with that too. Why is your Interview Critical? Because with it, the Probation Officer drafts the Presentence Report which all stakeholders use to control your future. With work, I was able to get my license reinstated.I never knew this in 2006, only to learn it after release, but I believe it to my core. Please listen and learn from my experiences.For more info., check out PPSRUS.com.· Prison is Temporary.Knowledge and Preparation will help build back the confidence you’ll need to get through this process.· Since you’ve heard that the Feds have been asking questions, their case against you is mostly complete, approaching a 98% Conviction Rate.· Hiring a legal team doesn’t just mean they have experience; they also need a proven track record of successfully defending cases like yours.· The choices you make today - will help you tomorrow.Don’t Stay at home and watch TV. It will hurt you if the Judge learns that for all this time, you have been depressed and staying at home.1) Continue doing constructive things. I had to spend my time closing my practice and selling my home.· If you have significant time between your Arraignment and your Sentencing Hearing, and if you are not working or caring for a relative or child, do some volunteer work – that can be verified.· If applicable, enroll in AA, NA, or GA and get verification letters.2) A well-written Personal NARRATIVE is your most important Defense Tool.3) Judges know that crimes don’t happen in a vacuum.· They want to know you and what occurred in your life that led to your appearance in court today.4) Roll Play and Practice the Allocution before your client gets to court.· RESTITUTION (try and come with some money at your sentencing): again, if applicable, bring proof that you are in or have taken AA, NA, GA, or are in therapy.
