Dr. Balakrishnan is a neonatologist, quality improvement specialist, and clinician educator at Tampa General Hospital.

Dr. Balakrishnan attended Sri Ramachandra Deemed University, Chennai Sri Ramachandra Medical College for medical school and an internship in internal medicine. Next, she did her residency in pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Finally, she did her fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
