Whisky - A Journey
Marie-Hélène Julien
5 episodes

As I see it, whisky is taking us on a journey. Whenever I pour myself a dram, it takes me on an adventure about tasting, about the production process (fermentation, distillation, maturation), and about visits of distilleries around the globe... Whisky truly is a thing of pleasure, and it is for everyone! Passionate about spirits, wine and beer, I dedicate myself to demystifying whisky for the general public. I am promoter of the sole whisky festival in Québec, Rendez-vous Scotch Whisky de Québec. I also have the great privilege of acting as an adjudicator for the Canadian Whisky Awards.

The stories that shape our love of whisky / It's Only a Matter of Distillation / Season 1 / Episode 2

A conversation with Luc, my whisky buddy of 16 years, in which we revisit the stories that shaped our love of whisky over the years and made us so curious that we've never stopped exploring it since!

Show notes : Luc uses the word "assemblage" on a few occasions in the interview. When he says that word, what he means is "blend". You'll also hear him say "xérès Ximenez", xérès is sherry in French. You'll have guessed that he's talking about Pedro Ximenez sherry. We're from Québec City Canada, English is actually our second language.

Host : Marie-Hélène Julien

Intro / Outro / Original score : François Julien

Guest : Luc Vallée

Passionate about spirits, wine and beer, I have been enjoying whisky for over 20 years. I dedicate myself to demystifying whisky for the general public. My motto : Whisky should not be so serious! Whisky is about people coming together to share moments of fun! And whisky is for everyone! Trust me! I also am, along with two formidable female colleagues, promoter of the sole whisky festival in Québec, Rendez-vous Scotch & Whisky de Québec. Furthermore, I have the great privilege to act as an adjudicator for the Canadian Whisky Awards.
