San Diego Packed with Spooky Festivities, Live Music, and Protests this Week
San Diego listeners, get ready because the week ahead is jam-packed with memorable events, live performances, and the best of spooky season fun. Today, October 18th, the city comes alive with fall festivals, music legends, protests, and family-friendly activities everywhere you look.

Halloween spirit is in the air all across San Diego. Today, make your way to the Mira Mesa Senior Center for the Fall Festival from 3 to 9 p.m. with crafts, games, and community fun, or unwind at Mount Hope Cemetery’s Movie in the Cemetery at 5:30 p.m., featuring a special screening of Coco under the stars. Throughout the week and into next weekend, you’ll find something for every taste. The Balboa Park Spooktacular kicks off Saturday morning, October 25th, and next Friday is filled with Halloween carnivals and pumpkin costume contests at Carmel Mountain Ranch, City Heights, North Park, San Carlos, and Tierrasanta pools according to the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation department.

Music lovers, you won’t want to miss metal legends Judas Priest and Alice Cooper taking the stage tonight at North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. If you’re into the late-night club scene, electronic DJ AC Slater headlines at Nova SD on Sixth Avenue starting at 10 p.m.

This weekend, the massive “No Kings” protest is drawing enormous crowds downtown as organizers expect 70 to 100,000 participants marching for democracy and civil rights. The march begins at Waterfront Park around 10:30 a.m., looping through Pacific Highway and back, with family activities nearby and extra public transit options to help you get there. According to CBS 8 San Diego, this is one of sixteen coordinated peaceful protest events happening across the county today.

Want to explore the best of local flavor and crafts? The 48th Annual Fall Arts and Crafts Fair at Bernardo Winery runs all weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring handmade treasures, food, wine, and family fun. Fall color is everywhere at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park Autumn Festival and HalGLOWeen at the San Diego Zoo. SeaWorld is mixing costumes and roller coasters at their infamous Halloween Spooktacular and Howl-O-Scream events every night.

From comedy shows and candlelight tributes at Fleet Science Center to neighborhood fall carnivals, there’s no shortage of happenings across each corner of the county. For those seeking something a little different, try the Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery Dinner downtown or immerse yourself in art at the Painting Party hosted by Art Scene West.

Thanks for tuning in, and don’t forget to subscribe for more ways to make the most of your week. This has been a quiet please production, for more check out quiet please dot ai.
