Candlelight Beatles Tribute, Fleet Week Festivities, and Family-Friendly Fall Fun Highlight San Diego's Packed Events Schedule This Week
San Diego listeners, mark your calendars because this week is packed with awesome events and fresh venues waiting to be explored. Today, October 30, treat yourself to a magical musical evening at the Candlelight Tribute to The Beatles at the Joan B. Kroc Theatre. Imagine iconic Beatles songs like Let It Be and Here Comes the Sun performed by a live string quartet—picture the venue lit by candlelight, creating a truly mesmerizing vibe. The doors open 45 minutes before showtime, and seating is first come, first served, so don’t be late!

Halloween weekend in the city means beyond pumpkins and costumes. Broadway Pier is hosting Fleet Week San Diego, now through November 9. It's your chance to check out military ship tours, ceremonies, and airshow performances. Whether you want to honor our service members or just enjoy the spectacle, there’s something for everyone at the waterfront.

For families, there’s plenty going on. Every day of October, kids 12 and under get free admission with a paying adult at more than 60 of San Diego County’s top museums, aquariums, and gardens—think history, science, and outdoor fun, and many options are free for the whole family. This weekend also brings dinosaur encounters, animatronic rides, and themed bounce houses around town, perfect for the little ones who want something special before Halloween wraps up.

If you want hands-on history, circle Sunday, November 2 on your calendar for the 25th Annual Fall Back Festival in the Gaslamp Quarter. Organized by the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation, this free event is a live time capsule taking you back to old San Diego. From butter churning and candle making to pie-eating contests and even a Kumeyaay drum circle, families can enjoy hours of activities and learn about native tools, historic demonstrations, and more. Don’t miss the root beer float bar and classic penny candy booth for a true blast from the past.

Culture lovers can join the Day of the Dead festivities Sunday at Chicano Park in Barrio Logan. This historic area will showcase beautiful altars, marigolds, traditional dancers, and more. Participants meet at the Nobel trolley station for a guided walk, lunch at a local Mexican restaurant, and sightseeing through Old Town, complete with music and vibrant costumes.

Restaurants are also buzzing with fresh flavors. Brand-new spots like Piedra Santa serve up Argentinian asado in Little Italy, while toasted tapas tempt you at Tour de Tapas in La Mesa. After a day at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club or a wood-fired meal at Bosforo in Normal Heights, you can sample cocktails and community vibes at Juni, a lively addition in Juniper & Ivy’s bar area.

Listeners, whatever your interest—music, history, military honors, family festivity, or food—San Diego has you covered this week. Thanks for tuning in and don’t forget to subscribe. This has been a quiet please production, for more check out quiet please dot ai.
