"What I Don't Want You to Know" is a podcast that dares to explore the hidden, unspoken truths that often lie beneath the surface of human experiences. In a world where we tend to share the more presentable aspects of our lives under the label of "what I want you to know," this podcast delves into the uncomfortable and vulnerable truths that are often kept concealed.
Each episode takes guests and listeners through 5 questions - "what I want you to know" "what I don't want you to know" "why I didn't want you to know" "what I've learnt from sharing (what I don't want you to know)" and "what I'm working on at the moment".
“What I Don't Want You to Know" is realm of complex truths, messiness, awkwardness, humour, and sincere dialogue. We believe that it’s these courageous and candid conversations that actually allow us to heal + grow. There’s something so liberating in getting free from what has previously held us back…
We also hope that this podcast inspires a little more bravery in the world…

Welcome to episode 5 of "What I Don’t Want You to Know..."
In this episode, we are thrilled to introduce you to an extraordinary individual, Chris. We are fortunate to have him in our lives as a cherished peer in recovery and a dear friend, and today, we are even luckier to have him share his powerful journey of resilience and persistence with you.
Chris bravely opens up about his struggles with addiction and the profound shame and insecurity he has faced both in his past and throughout his recovery. This topic hits very close to our hearts - so much so that we join Chris in discussing our own experiences of active addiction, mental ill health and our respective roads to recovery.
Our conversation delves into the challenges of navigating personal boundaries and the intricacies of disclosure, exploring the duality of presenting a polished image to the world while concealing personal struggles underneath. Chris discusses the fear of being judged or rejected when sharing personal experiences, emphasising the importance of finding a balance between vulnerability and trust in relationships.
Throughout the episode, we touch on the need for self-acceptance and the deep desire to connect with others who understand and support us. The discussion highlights our collective goals of personal growth, maintaining integrity, and finding love and connection in our lives.
Join us for an honest, heartfelt conversation that aims to inspire and resonate with anyone who has faced similar struggles.
Big love from us xx
And giant gratitude to Chris x
P.S. Our podcast is just that, a podcast. And whilst we have lived and living experience of addictions, mental ill health and recovery, if you or anyone you know needs or wants help with addictions and mental health, we recommend you reach out to support services (of which there are many).
