Did you ever wish you learned to play guitar or drums but never got around to it? Do you love live music but wish it was you on stage? Do you ever wonder what it would be like to sing in front of hundreds or thousands of people? Well, then, why not come hang out with Nick, Mike, and Jase as we sit back, have a couple drinks, and discuss everything about being in a band. We’ve spent our entire lives playing music and playing in bands and now comprise the Hudson Valley’s number 1 90’s & 00’s cover band, Run For Cover, playing all the songs we’ve grown up with and love. Whenever you see a band playing at a bar, club, festival, or private party, there’s so more that goes on behind the scenes to make that happen: decades of dedication and practice, tens of thousands of dollars spent on equipment, and thousands of hours of practice, not to mention negotiating with club owners and even organizers, dealing with inter-member conflict, and the struggles of being both artists and businessmen. Join us as we discuss topics like ”Polygamy: How being in a band is really being married to several people!” and ”Imposter! That’s Not Your Real Name! - A guide to dealing with crazy stalker fans” and ”Why do I have to pay so much for a band to play at my wedding? Don’t they just get drunk and act stupid on stage?” (the answer to that last one is, ”Yes, but...”) Please send any questions or comments to r4cpodcast@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from you and see what questions you might have or topics you’d like to hear us discuss.

Episode 34: On Professionalism & Local Musicians
Hey guys; first of all, PLEASE send us your comments, questions, or hate mail - we don't care; we just wanna hear from you! Ask us questions - anything you want to know about us, music, the local music scene, Jase's browser history, whatever - and we'll talk about it and give you a shout out! Email us at wereinaband@gmail.com or any of our social links below! Thanks for checking out this latest episode of the pod. This week, we dive deep into what makes a band "professional." We discover that professionalism comes in more flavors than simply earning money for doing something; it can be how you conduct yourself, showing up on time, or, you know, maybe skipping that last shot of Fireball which might make you do ... questionable... things on stage. While J may be the only in the band to have ever earned 100% of his living playing music (back in the day), Mike and Nick are no slouches when it comes to professionalism. We spend most of our free time on band-related endeavors, show up to gigs on time, and get along with club owners and bar staff. We don't get paid a lot, but we keep going because, well, we're professionals. Shrek is love, Shrek is life. Thanks to everyone who's come out to support us and the venues we play. We always have a blast playing for you guys - you give us so much love and our only aim is to take you back to the 90's. We love all of you and love interacting with y'all. We're happy to take pics, sign autographs, do body shots (whatever that is), or anything else! Find us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podbean, and all of your favorite podcast apps and socials.
