Episode 243: Why The Great War Did Not End In 1918. With Robert Gerwarth.

THIS WEEK! We are joined by Robert Gerwarth! And we discsus Why The Great War Did Not Really End In 1918.

A common misconception is that the war ended at the 11th November, at The 11th Hour. However this may be one of the biggest misconceptions of The Great War. Because there were still a lot of conflicts going on in the aftermath of the war. In Germany the Freicorps were stirring up problems, and the attempted communist revolution, in both Germany, and several other eastern European countries stirred up problems. The Russian Revolution, and the civil war that followed in the east stired up international problems as well, and in Ireland the strife of Independece were ever present. And in Turkey, the Greco Turkish War, and the strife of independence from The Ottoman Empire were ever present. We discuss all this, and much more on this weeks episode on "Well That Aged Well", with "Erlend Hedegart"
