These songs are a mix of traditional and original stories designed to engage young listeners in a multi-sensory experience of listening, reading, singing, moving, and playing instruments. Each story integrates essential literacy skills like pre-reading, reading, writing, and spelling, while also fostering creativity, self-esteem, and confidence in every child.In our previous episode, Episode 14, I shared insights and activities for two of our newly recorded story songs, “Oh My Aunt Came Back” and “The Tiny Caterpillar.” If you haven’t listened to it yet, I highly recommend starting there to get a wonderful introduction to understanding of these whimsical songs and how they blend music with literacy.
