The anticipation of being a new mom fills the mind with images of adorable baby clothes, tiny toes, and the perfect nursery, but in Canada 7.5% of women experience postpartum depression, and in the first 12 months after giving birth 12.5% of women reported that most days were stressful. In this episode, I sit down with a mother of three, under the age of six, to discuss how postpartum depression impacted her ability to engage and connect to her family and just how deep, dark, and destructive the mind can be when in crisis.
