Glyn Fussell
38 episodes

From being a misfit in society to a hero for a community, We Can Be Heroes is a podcast that celebrates people who have pushed through boundaries to achieve an inspirational level of success. Hosted by LGBTQ+ icon, Sink the Pink founder and King of the UK's club scene Glyn Fussell, this is a podcast for anyone a bit different.

Glyn will interview inspirational guests who have harnessed the power of being different and turned it into the reason they've achieved the success they have. They'll be bearing it all, talking about their hardships and struggles, but focussing on the triumphs and successes to prove that it's by being ourselves and accepting our individuality that we flourish.

Working his entire life to inspire and be a leader within the LGBTQ+ community, Glyn Fussell has a deep respect for people who work to uplift others, and that's why he believes every one of his guests deserves to be called a hero.

Glyn will be bringing these extraordinary people down to a human level for an intimate chat, working out how they've managed to fight through the struggles. He tracks their journey from finding themselves, to accepting themselves, to embracing themselves and finally becoming a hero and making their differences a superpower.

When you're different, finding a hero to look up to can be hard. Now these role models are in one place for an inspiring series that celebrates the unique!

Dr Ronx Ikharia on Visibility

Dr Ronx lives by the motto “you cannot be what you do not see.” They have carved a path in the world they want to see with sheer determination and self-funded their way through Medical School after leaving home as a teenager. They are an Emergency medicine doctor by profession and describe themself as a queer, black, androgynous intersectional feminist. Ronx shares their journey through coming out as trans in the black community and understanding their intersection has allowed them to grow and help others. They are a positive force who uses their own lived experience to provide understanding for the LGBTQI community and beyond. Ronx often uses social media as a place to air their views and commentary on the world around them and when chatting to Glyn, they unpick the role we all play in becoming an ally.
