The Songkhram River in northeast Thailand is a tributary of the Mekong River, an important river in Asia. It provides essential habitat for more than 180 species of fish, with at least 58 species migrating between the basin and the Mekong River. The community members around the basin primarily work in fishing and floodplain agriculture, including rice cultivation and livestock, representing a sustainable economy within the communities.Today our guest is Thanapon Piman, a Senior Research Fellow with SEI Asia.
