Each week we begin with a “washed moment” in which we choose a moment in the week when we feel over the hill. Combine that with the most interesting stories of the week and you have the “Washed Gods”.

Washed Gods. Washed. Never Washed Up. It’s been a long time. We shouldn’t have left you, without a dope pod to step to… life has been life’n lately as we like to say. The holiday season brings out the fake feels. We came back to bring you the real. The three of us have been keeping our head down during these trying times. The quote “all the world’s ill’s…” hasn’t been more true to form than as of late. The artist, businessman, & father Young Dolph was killed in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee this past week. We talked about the dynamic relationship between rap music & violence. How it’s effecting the way the world looks at our music, & what it means for the future generations of artists coming up in this industry.
In other unfortunate music news, Travis Scott can’t shake the AstroWorld backlash it seems. Since the annual festival was cancelled due to a number of injuries & 9 deaths, lawsuits have been filed against La Flame, Drake, & Apple Music. The total amount of the suit is to the tune of 2 billion dollars. There was a lot to unpack here. We talked about the responsibility of artists to maintain the safety of the fans at shows.
Kanye West sat down with the Drink Champs for not one, but two very entertaining interviews. We talked about the highlights of their conversation. We talked about how good it was to see him in his element. Among friends and not just media pundits looking for a hit take. They were definitely in there though! All the things you love about the Gods of the Pods are back. Except the visuals (Taji’s be back soon). Oh and Washed Moments. We forgot to do those this week. We got y’all next time. What we’ve been watching/listening to are in there. And we’ll be giving you more content soon. Stay tuned. WNWU. Like. Subscribe. Share. Stay Black.
