There’s a new podcast strutting down Hollywood Boulevard, and, miraculously, it’s not shameful. The Walk of Fame Podcast has arrived, cowboy boots polished and sunglasses on, ready to mix Lone Star swagger with West Coast shine. The show pairs Bryan Kluger, a fast-talking Texan with a penchant for movies and mischief, and
Hillary Atkin, a California journalist whose Rolodex is basically the guest list at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Together, they’re here to walk the walk and talk the talk, often at the same time, occasionally with a drink in hand.
Each week, Bryan and Hillary sit down with the people who make Hollywood hum with actors, directors, producers, and the unsung heroes behind your favorite films and TV shows. They peel back the layers of fame and glamour, swapping stories, laughs, and a few libations as they go. Think of it as Inside the Actors Studio if James Lipton had a margarita and a sense of humor.
In this week’s episode, we welcome the incomparable Siobhan Fallon Hogan. Yes, that Siobhan Fallon Hogan, the secret comedic accelerant of ’90s pop culture. She’s the one who managed to hold her own among Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, and David Spade on SNL, which is a bit like performing Shakespeare in the middle of a high-speed food fight. You also know her as the suspiciously patient wife in Men in Black, and, of course, as the bus driver in Forrest Gump, a role that, in retrospect, feels like she was personally tasked with transporting American cinema from one iconic moment to the next.
The three of us settled in for a conversation that ricocheted between the philosophy of acting, the sort of behind-the-scenes stories that make you both nostalgic for the ’90s and relieved you survived them, and her passionate defense of what she insists is the finest Irish dish ever devised by humankind. (We nodded politely, but with that very American suspicion that all Irish recipes secretly involve boiling something that shouldn’t be boiled.)
It’s a warm, lively, unexpectedly nourishing talk, as if an acting masterclass, an SNL oral history, and a family cookbook sat down at the same table and decided to braid their stories together. We really do cover all the bases. And possibly invent a few new ones.
The conversation is lively, touching, and occasionally tipsy. It’s exactly the sort of Hollywood cocktail you didn’t know you were thirsty for. So go ahead, put your feet up, pour yourself something strong, and subscribe to The Walk of Fame Podcast. You’ll laugh, you’ll learn, and, for once, you’ll feel good about a podcast that actually lives up to its name.
