Kahlil Gibran was a poet, philosopher and artist, whose work is loved and known as "an expression of the deepest impulses of man's heart and mind."
I share his poem "On Joy and Sorrow", in the hopes of helping to dispel some of this toxicity spreading through mainstream trends, otherwise known as spiritual bypass by those who truly walk the path.
It's equally ok to be sad, or struggling. Don't deny your experience. Listen to it and honour it.
Let’s stop the toxic positivity, let’s stop the fear shaming, and let's stop feeling bad about not feeling good all the time. It's not realistic, nor should it even be desired. You can’t know one without the other.
But you can know your true self, and that is where your stability is.
Let's light it up, with Rev Kim.
