Dans ce deuxième épisode bouleversant de Voix du Terrain : Histoires de la Santé Rurale au Congo, la Dre Grâce Mabiala raconte l’histoire vraie de Reine, une femme enceinte qui a marché seule pendant des heures, en plein travail, pour tenter de rejoindre le centre de santé le plus proche. Elle n’y arrivera jamais.

À travers ce récit poignant, la Dre Mabiala met en lumière l’injustice criante que vivent tant de femmes en milieu rural : accoucher sans suivi prénatal, sans moyen de transport, sans assistance médicale. Elle reçoit le renfort du Dr Nogaëlle Ongagna, gynécologue-obstétricienne, qui propose une lecture clinique et systémique du drame.

L’épisode se conclut par des solutions concrètes et éprouvées pour éviter que de telles tragédies se reproduisent : motos-ambulances, maisons de maternité d’attente, relais communautaires formés, cliniques mobiles prénatales, systèmes d’alerte par SMS. Ces modèles existent déjà ailleurs — il ne manque que la volonté d’agir.

L’histoire de Reine est un cri. Un cri pour qu’on écoute. Un cri pour qu’on change les choses.
