Friendship is one of the most special of all bonds between human beings. Without friendship, we as men would never realize our greatest potential. One of the greatest portrayals of friendship in all of fiction is the bond between Andy and Red, the two principal characters of the 1982 Stephen King novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption and its universally-beloved 1994 film adaptation.
