Main Idea: Salt was a sign of covenant in the Old Testament and people living and embodying Jesus’ kingdom are supposed to be that too, signs of the new covenant in Christ. Salt also brings out the flavors of wherever it is. How do we bring out God? Similarly, just as Israel was called to be a light to the nations, Jesus’ disciples are supposed to show forth God’s light.
