வேட்டையாடச் சென்ற இளைஞன் ஒருவன் ஒரு இளம்பெண்ணைப் பார்க்கிறான். அவள் அழகைக் கண்டு அவன் மயங்குகிறான். அவனும் அவளும் தங்கள் பாரவையைப் பரிமாறிக்கொண்டு தங்கள் காதலைக் குறிப்பால் அறிந்துகொள்கிறார்கள். இருவரும் தனித்துக் கூடி இன்பம் அனுபவிக்கிறார்கள். கூடி மகிழ்ந்த காதலன், அந்தப் பெண்ணின் அழகைப் பாராட்டுகிறான். இருவரும் தங்கள் காதலின் சிறப்பை எண்ணி மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறார்கள். பின்னர் அந்தப் பெண்ணின் காதல் அவளுடைய தாய்க்குத் தெரிய வந்தது. அதனால், அவள் வீட்டைவிட்டு வெளியே போய் தன் காதலனைச் சந்திக்க முடியாத சூழ்நிலை ஏற்படுகிறது. சந்திக்க முடியாததால் அந்தக் காதலனும் காதலியும் தங்கள் நாணத்தைவிட்டு மிகுந்த வருத்தம் அடைகிறார்கள். அவர்களுடைய காதலைப் பற்றிய செய்தி ஊராருக்குத் தெரியவந்தது. ஊரார் அந்தக் காதலர்களைப் பற்றி இழிவாகப் பேசுகிறார்கள். அந்த இழிவான சொற்களால் காதலர்கள் வருத்தம் அடைந்தாலும், பிறருடைய பழிச்சொற்களால் அவர்களுக்குத் திருமணம் நடைபெறுவதற்கு வாய்ப்பு இருப்பதை நினைத்து அவர்கள் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறார்கள். 

A young man went hunting. There he saw a young, beautiful girl. He was mesmerized by her beauty. The young man and the girl looked at each other. They fell in love at once. The next day, the young man goes to the same location where he saw the beautiful girl hoping that she might come there. As he expected, she was there. They met and enjoyed each other’s company. When it became dark, they parted. On his way home, the young man reminisces his meeting with the young girl and recalls every aspect of her beauty. They meet a few times again. The girl’s mother suspects that her daughter might be in love with someone. So, she tells her daughter not to leave home. So, the young man is unable to meet his beloved. The village people come to know about the love affair between the young man and the girl and begin to gossip about them. The gossip of the village people is bitter-sweet to the lovers. Although they are upset about the gossip, they are also happy about the gossip. They feel that the gossip will help them to get married.
