Season 20: Episode 4 - Celia (Child of Terror) with Sarah Marshall and Carmelita Valdez McKoy
So far this season we have talked about the book of the dead, exploitation films, and scary industrial rock. So it seems like the perfect time to lighten it up a bit with some family entertainment! We welcome back Sarah Marshall (chef and owner of Marshall's Haute Sauce, Meaningful Marketplace Podcast host, and podcast producer of The Joy of Cooking Podcast) and Carmelita Valdez McKoy (frequent podcaster on numerous shows.) Together we take a look at Celia (Child of Terror.)
The film follows a little girl as she learns about death (a lot about it,) violence, communism, goblins, AND responsible pet ownership (a bit). It is a fascinating film from Australia and we hope you seek it out. This episode also features a world premier electro-goth song by the band Celia called Heavens To Mergatroid. Is that a real thing? You will just have to listen (just look at that 12"! Maybe the B side is a 16volt remix of the song! *16volt and Eric Powell did not remix this song and are not affiliated with the Portland/Argentinian electro-no wave-goth band CELIA.)
