Listen to the story of courage of Camelia that earned her the Bapu Gaidhani Award in 2018. Before we dive into these inspiring tales, let's explore the beautiful state of Meghalaya in Northeast India. Known as the abode in the clouds, Meghalaya is not only famous for its scenic landscapes but also for being one of the cleanest states in India. We then shift our focus to a remarkable young girl named Camellia who saved her intellectually disabled brother from a fire. One evening a fire broke out in her neighbour's house. Before they could do anything, the flames had spread to Camellia's house as well. Her parents had gone out for some work. Camellia was at home with her brother. When the fire spread to her home, she had to decide fast how how to save herself and her brother.
Her brother panicked and was unable to get out of the house. Camellia had good presence of mind. Due to her extraordinary courage of saving her brother's life, she was awarded the Babu Gaidhani Award of 2018.
With quick thinking and courage, Camellia's story reminds us of the strength and bravery within children. Her extraordinary act earned her the prestigious Babu Gedhani Award of 2018.
