The practice of various pranayamas or life-force control techniques invokes the experience of Divine Sounds or Aum in the yogi's body. Through yoga, the yogi withdraws all the bodily currents of life-force into the temple of God, i.e the cerebrospinal centers, in his body. The concentration of life force and consciousness in these centers invokes Divine Astral Sounds. By meditating on these Sounds, the yogi gradually climbs up the ladder to higher consciousness. Finally, he enters the Kingdom of Spirit through these Cosmic Sounds heard in his body. In this episode of Mahamui Tirimular's Thirumanthiram, Gurudev Sri Swami Brahmananda Giri explains the divine experience of Sounds a true seeker of truth will have on his way to God. It is only through the grace and ardent practice of yoga accompanied by deep devotion these sounds are invoked in a yoga student's body. So, one who can listen to these sounds is truly blessed. The door to liberation is opened for him/her. These sounds alone is the path because it alone is the connecting link between the individualized soul or Jiva and Supreme Soul, God.
