
On the foundation day of Tinka Tinka Foundation, we are presenting our 40th episode of Tinka Tinka Jail Radio, the ONLY podcast in India which is dedicated to prison reforms. Tune in to the voices of 10 inmates from District Jail, Sonipat in Haryana who have penned and voiced a special song on Tinka Jail Radio. Fouded by Vartika Nanda, Tinka Tinka Foundation is credited to conceptualise, train and execute prison radios in District Jail, Agra and the state of Haryana. Vartika Nanda is a prison reformer using the best practices of journalism and academia for prison reforms. She is the founder of Tinka Tinka Foundation, which works for improving prison life, including the introduction of prison radio in District Jail, Agra and the jails of Haryana. She has authored three books on prisons. Her Tinka Tinka Jail Radio Podcasts are exclusive podcasts dedicated to Indian prisons. President of India conferred the Stree Shakti Puraskar on her in 2014 for her contribution to women empowerment through media and literature. Her name has also been included in the Limca Book of Records twice for her unique work on prison reforms. Her work on prisons was taken cognizance by the Supreme Court of India in 2018. Currently, she heads the Department of Journalism, Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.
