Dr. Vartika Nanda is India's renowed prison reformer and founder of Tinka Tinka Foundation that aims to bring positive change in prisons. Her three books on prison reforms are authentic version of life in jails. She was conferred Stree Shakti Puraskar by the President of India in 2014 and has been included twice in the Limca Book of Records. A former journalist, she now heads the Department of Journalism in Lady Shri Ram College, DU. This podcast series is edited by Harsh Vardhan. Vartika Nanda is also the storyteller and narrator of Kissa Khaki Ka, the podcast series of Delhi Police.

This episode is based on Vartika Nanda's visit to Oslo Jail as a part of the first International Prison Radio Conference in Oslo, Norway, in June, 2022. Conference, organised by the Prison Radio Association in collaboration with the Directorate of Norwegian Correctional Services, was a historic event bringing together participants from over 20 countries. It was aimed at facilitating global knowledge and experience-sharing on the potential of jail radio in humanizing prisons and rehabilitating inmates.   Story of Prison Radio in India   Vartika Nanda's 30-minute exhaustive presentation included an overview of prison radio in India and details of prison radio initiatives implemented by her non-profit organisation, Tinka Tinka Foundation, in District Jails of Agra and Dehradun as well as 8 jails of Haryana.  This episode sheds light on the jail library of Oslo.
