De Rode Draad – Schuiven op links (met Simon Otjes)
In De Rode Draad geven wij, Jelle, Rémon, Ko en Cato, je de context die je nog mist. Elke week duiken we met een gast in een nieuw thema: de transformatie van volkspartijen, veranderende idealen in een postmateriële samenleving, de kracht en kwetsbaarheid van fusie, en de toekomst van links.
In deze tweede aflevering spreken Rémon en Cato met universitair docent Nederlandse politiek Simon Otjes over de vermeende ideologische verschillen tussen de PvdA en GroenLinks. Hoe kunnen we dat verschil historisch verklaren? Spelen bredere ontwikkelingen in de samenleving, zoals postmaterialisme, hierbij een rol? Of worden deze verschillen vooral onterecht uitvergroot, en liggen de partijen eigenlijk dichter bij elkaar dan vaak wordt aangenomen? Daarnaast bespreken we het Nederlandse electorale landschap en issue ownership. Op welke groep kiezers gaat deze nieuwe partij zich richten?
