In this episode we discuss the stories we can discover through heritage with heritage project facilitator, Llynda Baugh.

 

This episode will explore:

 

How you can communicate the beautiful heritage narratives to the public.

The difference between heritage and history.

Myths and Legends, and what they teach us about our communities.

The importance of listening to personal stories.

Civic pride.

 

 

Utilising Heritage as a starting point to make a place better.

Looking to the past to make connections in our communities and have a sense of belonging.

Teach newcomers about heritage.

Not assuming everyone knows about local stories.

 


Llynda shares with us some of her recent projects including:

‘Heritage on your doorstep.’

You don’t always need to get in your car to find heritage.

Palitoy Factory.

Going into schools, designing toys, designing packaging whilst learning about Action Man and the toys from the factory.

‘Charnwood Bell Festival’ which happened on the 10th Sept

George Taylor Bells in Loughborough.

‘The Famous 50’ heritage parade in Coalville.

 


 

How we keep heritage alive - saving Lost heritage

Each place has a unique story.
