30 episodes

Often considered the 'Wild West' of Australia, the Northern Territory has more characters than the Oxford Dictionary. Most of them have never had their story told. Until Now!

Real stories from the Northern Territory, Australia. Hosted by Mother and Daughter duo: Toni Tapp Coutts and Megan Coutts - aka Mum and Me!

Come on a journey, as we delve into the life stories of Territorians, whether born here or not, and hear some fascinating yarns.

We will donate all of our interviews the the Library and Archives of the NT, for their oral history project.

A true Territorian isn't merely a casual observer who enjoys the surroundings; they're the ones who forge a deep connection to the land. They establish their presence, nurture their families, and invest in the future of the Territory. Though the coming years may present challenges, a genuine Territorian embraces them with resolve, committed to enduring and prospering. They build legacies that echo through generations, ensuring a brighter tomorrow for their descendants, who will one day honour their foresight and dedication.

Kim McLachlan Part Two
Untold Territory

Kim McLachlan Part Two

In Kim's second episode, Kim delves into the steep learning curve of having a neurodivergent and epileptic son. She juggles motherhood, work and volunteering - we are yet to determine how she slept!

Part of Kim's written response was something we loved so much as it summed up what we all think of the NT:

"It's the cool dry season mornings with the smell of fresh bushfire smoke early in the fire season... It's the raucous calls of a Blue Winged kookaburra competing with the bugle at the Anzac Day dawn service... It's the lime green foliage in the ironwoods in September, the pink blaze of the Turkey Bush flowers during camping season..."

Sit back, turn it up, and listen to the 2nd part of the story that is Kim McLachlan!
