This week, I'm borrowing a little chaos from AITA. The story? A professional caregiver looks after an elderly man for years; shows up, takes care of him with respect and consistency, not just as a job, but as a decent human. When the man passes, he leaves the caregiver his house in the will. Now, the man’s adult kids WHO BARELY VISITED OR CARED are fuming.
I’m firmly on the caregiver’s side, and in this episode, I’m getting into why. We’re talking about emotional entitlement, performative family loyalty, and why being paid doesn’t cancel out real connection.
