
In this episode, Lesley Caldwell shares how she represents the University in the wider community, moving away from the 'town and gown' divide, and supporting sustainable and diverse projects across Fife.

Lesley Caldwell, Community Engagement and Social Responsibility Officer at the University of St Andrews. Lesley studied Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College in Dundee before embarking upon a career in the charity sector. Her role at the University spans all aspects of community engagement, from contributing to the Race Equality Charter to managing project funding and sitting on the board of Transition St Andrews and the Sands International Film Festival. Lesley sits on the Cultural Working Group, amongst others.
Catherine Dunford, BSc (Hons) 2007, PhD (2012), Alumni Relations and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Engagement Coordinator, Development, University of St Andrews. Catherine took up this new position in 2022, with the main goal of creating an alumni network that celebrates the ethnic and cultural diversity of St Andrews graduates around the world.
