In this episode, your hosts interview Catriona Tassell, an expert on sustainability in fashion, about enclothed cognition. Catriona is a graduate of the London College of Fashion, who has collaborated with Kering and the Centre for Sustainable Fashion, and is a sustainable fashion leader for the Copenhagen Youth Fashion Summit.
Enclothed cognition describes the influence the clothes you wear have on your psychological processes. It was the first scientific research to show just how important clothing is to our everyday lives and impacts how we think, feel and behave. Catriona discusses her research on enclothed cognition, particularly on the effect that wearing sustainable clothing has on our moods and feelings. The discussion touches on: Why does this matter? How does psychology add to the conversation about fashion? And how can all of this influence the sustainability of the fashion industry?
