Episode 79: Kelly Boy DeLima celebrates 40 years of Island Music

Kelly Boy DeLima is a musician and founder of the legendary band Kapena - that turned 40 years this year. Their iconic songs like "Masese", "Reggae Train", and "Never Gonna Give You Up" has been the soundtrack to generations growing up here in Hawai’i. Alongside him are his children and even his 12-year-old grandson, who takes on the role of the band's drummer. This multi-generational, multi-award winning collaboration reflects the band's strong family bonds and commitment to island music. In this episode we talk about the early days of Kapena to the next generation and beyond.
