Get ready for the return of the first English-language podcast on Radio SKOVORODA UNCHAINED! In our second season, we're shining a light on the ongoing battle against corruption and bringing fresh perspectives to the table. Our host, Inna Nelles, an expert in strategic communications and advocacy, discusses with guests the most effective anti-corruption policies and their real-world impact. We'll be focusing on the experiences of Eastern Europe and Eurasia.
To begin with, we're diving into an intriguing experiment conducted by Ukrainian researchers Andriy Biletskyi, administrative director of the Anti-Corruption Research and Education Center (ACREC), and Roman Sheremeta, economist and founding director of the American University Kyiv. In this experiment, students were given money to manage, with every transaction carefully tracked. The goal was to see how well restrictions and penalties work in fighting corruption. Do fines actually scare corrupt officials? Can a decent income eliminate bribery? Why are online declarations important? Which institutions offer the most effective ways to fight corruption? And how can Ukraine embrace an anti-corruption culture? Discover the surprising findings of this experiment and more on Spotify, SoundCloud, Google, and Apple podcasts.
