
In this episode of Trauma Talk with the UNC Trauma Center, we discuss hot car safety with Tonya Stafford. Tonya is the pediatric trauma nurse educator and outreach coordinator for the pediatric trauma program at UNC's Trauma Center as well as a car seat technician. She provides valuable information on the dangers of leaving children in hot cars and tips on how to prevent heatstroke deaths. Tonya also shares a firsthand encounter of finding two children alone in a hot car and the actions she took — an experience that earned her a SAVE Award.
