I am pleased to introduce Tony Shepherd, a well-known Australian businessman, public servant, and philanthropist. With a career spanning over several decades, Tony has worked on some of the most significant infrastructure projects in Australia, including the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, EastLink, and the Lane Cove Tunnel. He has also held several high-profile leadership positions, including President of the Business Council of Australia and Chairman of the Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association.
Tony's achievements in business and public service are impressive, but he is also known for his passion for the arts and sports. He served as a trustee and later Chairman of the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust, and as Chair of the Greater Western Sydney Giants, he played a key role in shaping the performance and business strategy of the football team. In recognition of his contributions to business, infrastructure development, and the arts, Tony was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2012.
In this interview, Tony will share some private stories of his experiences working with Franco Belgiorno-Nettis, the founder of Transfield Services, who played a significant role in his career. He will also talk about the importance of hard work and preparedness in achieving success, and how serendipity has shaped his life. We look forward to hearing from Tony and gaining insights from his wealth of knowledge and experience.
