here are many reasons for discussing a subject such as trustworthiness. Many people do not understand it, especially its obligations and its responsibilities. These are regarded as trusts.Trustworthiness is termed amaanah in Arabic, and the word has various connotations. When people possess the characteristic of amaanah they gain others’ confidence and trust. Many people describe amaanah as the opposite of cheating (such is the definition by Imaam Ibn Mansoor in Lisaanul Arab; also see Week 23 ). In the literal sense, the word may also refer to ‘peace of mind”.فَإِنْ أَمِنَ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًۭا فَلْيُؤَدِّ ٱلَّذِى ٱؤْتُمِنَ أَمَـٰنَتَهُۥ وَلْيَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُۥ ۗ (سورة البقرة: ٢٨٣)“… and if one of you entrusts another, then let him who is entrusted discharge his trust and let him fear Allah, his Lord.” (Soorat al-Baqarah 283)Ulama Institute is Proud to Offer the Best Arabic and Islamic Study Tutors Online.
