Changing and influencing social norms. Opening the conversation outside of the immediate issue and into society. 014 - The Resilient Child
Paula and Jo will be chatting to Ryan about resilience in children, covering topics of internal and external resilience. Discussing the interventions and preventions that can be put in place as well as the 7 C's of resilience. Ryan works in the field of alcohol and drugs, supporting young people, young adults and families to make and sustain positive changes for themselves, their families and their community. Ryan believes it's important to contribute to what he feels is one of society’s most damaging problems, the effects of trauma and how that it needn’t negatively play out within adolescence and adult lives. In the beginning of Paula's recovery, Ryan played a key part of her journey which in turn has given her the determination to change her life around and the drive to reach out and help others do the same. He has his own personal experiences to draw from which drive his passion to help and change the future lives of our young adults today. Helping them to feel comfortable, safe and free to express themselves without judgement.
