Chantal Cardinal of Felt a la Main with Love
Our Guest Artist: Chantal Cardinal of Felt a la Main with Love
Our Host Artist: Carol McQuaid
Our Bar: Main Street Brewing
Our guest this time is Chantal Cardinal of Felt a la Main with Love.  When I say she’s big in the felting world, I mean BIG!  Her massive wall-sized commissions are breathtaking, and her giant womb-like suspended chair draws a crowd at open studio events.

Now let’s head to the Main Street Brewing and listen in as Chantal and I swap stories about art and life.  Spoiler alert; we each have a story about our initial meeting that surprises the other.  Love it when life works that way.  Cheers
 In this episode you’ll hear about:

* Our serendipitous meeting
* Studio life at the Arts Factory in Vancouver
* Her life as a soccer player, fashion designer, aerialist, massage therapist and artist, and how it all combined into her incredible felting work
* How she got started with felting
* Getting to know her ‘suppliers’ at the fleece option: “Every sheep is different. Tina doesn’t felt the same as Jeffrey”
* Spending 2 months in the Netherlands to work with artist Claudie Younstra on farmed art, flocks of sheep and dye gardens
* Holding felting workshops and lectures at Gronnengen’s Waste no Waste Factory
* Language study tips for prepping for art trips
